In no more than 400 words, write a scene in which heat, or warmth,
affects a character's mood and behavior.

There are many situations in which heat is a catalyst for action and
reaction. Heat can be comforting, like sitting by a fire on a cold winter
evening, or discomfiting, like fighting off a high fever. A sip of
hot coffee is a pleasantly stimulating drink, but watch out for spills! A
bubbling hot tub soothes tight muscles and eases aches, but a bubbling
hot spring can be the setting for a disastrous experience.

Critique: As you read the story, did you feel the heat? And were
you able to picture the protagonist's reaction? Did the author's
depiction of the action help you relate to the character's mood or behavior?
